Avoiding Anger Through Pill: Anger Management Medications

We all have different ways in dealing with our emotions.  Others have a very long threshold in anger and frustrations, but some may have a very short patience that they are easily triggered to feel pain, anger, and rage.  Some of these people who have short patience use different anger management methods like counseling, journal-keeping, and hypnosis.  But there were people who use prescriptive drugs for anger management to help them instantly feel calm and cool.
Most of these anger management medications are being prescribed by your doctor once you have been diagnosed with a problem dealing with your anger.  The best is to talk to your doctor about these anger management medications and see which one would work best for you.
What Kind Of Pills?
Medical experts believe that anger is a complex phenomenon and has many possible roots or causes that could be from physical and psychological and the use of anger management medication for one patient could not guarantee the same desired results to all people who are having a problem dealing with their anger.  That is why the first step in to managing anger is to understand and know what causes it and the process may involve a series of tests and evaluations both physical and mental.  After which, the choice of anger management medication may then be determined by your doctor, choosing something that would best suit you.
Most of the anger management medications that are being prescribed to individuals who suffer from out of control rage and depression are serontonergic anti-depressants like Zoloft, Prozac, and Celexa to help you feel calm and tranquil.  If one of these anger management medications do not work, another still might to help you deal with your pain and anguish.  Also, some anger management medications that are being prescribed are lithium carbonate, beta blockers like Atenolol, clonidine, atypical anti-psychotics like low-dose risperidone, and anti-convulsant mood stablilizers such as divalproex, carbamazepine, and could also be gabapentine.
All of these anger management medications have their advantages and disadvantages and it is best to talk to your doctor not only about the benefits of these medications but also the risks that involve it.  Probably, dependence on these anger management medications is the biggest risk involve when taking them that may lead to addiction and liver problems.
If these anger management medications may seem to be too much for you, there are also different ways as to how to deal with it and it could be by joining groups, counseling, journal-writing, or other productive ways that could help you channel your negative energies into positive ones.
